Malevolence's new music video for "Salt The Wound" has been taken down after the UK's National Trust got irritated by the band filming on a public walking path. Fortunately someone who totally isn't Malevolence or anyone associated with them – and goes by the username Trust Issues – has re-uploaded the video to YouTube for your very illegal enjoyment below.
"SADLY OUR LATEST VIDEO FOR 'SALT THE WOUND' HAS BEEN FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM THE NUCLEAR BLAST YOUTUBE CHANNEL DUE TO THREATS OF LEGAL ACTION MADE BY @nationaltrust.
"APPARENTLY PRETENDING TO PLAY THE GUITAR FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS ON A PUBLIC PATH THAT THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS WALK UP EVERY SINGLE DAY IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE WORTH PURSUING. ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY OUR TEAM TO FIND A RESOLUTION FOR THE SITUATION, WHICH HAVE BEEN ENTIRELY REFUSED.
"THE VIDEO IS A CELEBRATION OF WHERE WE COME FROM AND WE’RE PROUD OF WHAT WE MADE.
"FORTUNATELY…. SOMEONE HAS ANONYMOUSLY UPLOADED A VERSION TO BACK TO YOUTUBE.. YOU CAN WATCH IT NOW AT THE LINK IN OUR BIO THANK YOU ALWAYS FOR THE SUPPORT."
You'd think by now people would realize that banning or taking down anything that's "offensive" or runs slightly afoul of their rules only draws a boatload of attention to it… but I guess not.
If you're wondering exactly who the hell National Trust is, they describe themselves as such: "As Europe’s largest conservation charity, we look after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. We do it with the help of millions of members, volunteers, staff and donors. Without this, we couldn’t care for the miles of coastline, woodlands, countryside and the hundreds of historic buildings, gardens and precious collections we protect."
