Army holds military-oriented training programme for 161 Maharashtra State Civil Services officers

As many as 161 officers from the Maharashtra State Civil Services has undergone a week-long intensive military-oriented training programme at the Military Civil Fusion Training Node at the Aundh Military Station, Pune.

The training, which was held between June 4 and 10, was conducted under the purview of the Indian Army’s Southern Command.

The 161 Group A officers, included deputy collectors, deputy superintendents of police, assistant commissioners of State Tax and Block Development Officers.

The training programme was aimed at enhancing leadership, inter-service coordination, and crisis management skills, preparing the officers for effective decision-making in high-pressure situations.
The comprehensive course was a collaborative effort between the Indian Army and Yashwantrao Chavan Academy Of Development Administration (YASHADA), setting a new standard in military-civil fusion for governance training,” the Army said in a statement.

The Army stated that the officers participated in hands-on modules covering weapon firing, rock climbing, room intervention, and jungle survival drills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and strategic problem-solving.

“The initiative reinforced the commitment of Maharashtra’s state administration to build resilient leadership within its ranks to navigate complex challenges. In addition to tactical training, the officers interacted with senior military officials, gaining critical insights into operational strategies, which will enable them in effectively serving the public contributing towards good governance.” the statement said.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the strengthening of military-civil relations and demonstrates the state’s dedication to capacity building and sustainable development.
