Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not addressing the problems of the JEE-NEET aspirants in his monthly ‘Man Ki Baat’ and instead talking about the toy industry of the country.
Among other things, for example, the festival of Onam, increase in kharif sowing etc the Prime Minister talked about making India a toy hub of the world. He stressed the need of toys for the personality dveloment of the children and also referred to Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore in this regard.
However, Rahul later in the day tweeted: “JEE-NEET aspirants wanted the PM do ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ but the PM did ‘Khilone Pe Charcha’.”
NEET will be conducted on September 13 and JEE is scheduled in the first week of September. Around 9.53 lakh and 15.97 lakh candidates have registered for JEE and NEET respectively.
As reported earlier these exams have already been deferred twice in the wake of the coronavirus. The students’ wing of Congress, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) had on Friday launched a nationwide stir to protest against the decision to conduct the exams without proper arrangement and restoration of railway services.
