The ailing Rashtriya Janta Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday wrote back in his own handwriting a letter to Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, assuring him that ‘he is not going anywhere’. The RJD’s supremo response came within couple of hours after media reported that the senior RJD leader and former union minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh wrote a 30-words resignation letter in his own handwriting, addressing Lalu Yadav that “we have been working for 32 long years together but it is no more possible”.
Seeking apology for taking such a drastic step Raghuvansh didn’t cite any reason for his exit.
But Lalu Yadav immediately swung into damage limitation exercise and told Raghuvansh that we would “sit together after your recovery” to sort out the matter. Lalu reminded that they have been working for forty years and had shared and discuss every political, social and even family issues sitting together.
The bottom line of the Lalu Yadav message was ‘Aap Kahi Nhi Ja Rhe, Samajh Lijiye!’ (you are going nowhere, please understand). Thus, in this way the RJD chief has rejected the resignation letter of Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.
The seventy-four-year-old Raghuvansh penned his resignation letter from AIIMS in New Delhi where he was shifted in its ICU on Sep 9 itself. However, later his condition improved. Though he had not announced his future course of action grapevine has it that he may join Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United.
He had been unhappy with the present leadership of RJD following the decision to induct former LJP MP Rama Singh into the RJD, since LJP candidate Rama defeated Raghuvansh in 2014 Lok Sabha election.
