Stating that the three farm laws have been enacted to fund the electioneering of the Bhartiya Janata Party Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday tore apart the copies of the Acts in the state Assembly.
Speaking on the occasion Kejriwal said that he is pained at tearing the copies and had no such intention of doing so, but when the farmers of the country are sleeping on the streets in such a cold weather to fight for their right he had no choice but to express full solidarity towards them.
The Aam Admi Party MLAs shouted “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” and clapped as the chief minister tore the copies of Acts. Earlier in the day another MLA Mahindra Goyal too had indulged in such an act.
The Delhi Assembly also unanimously rejected all the three farms laws. Kejriwal also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of making the election campaign a very costly affair. The saffron party is taking all these measures as it needs a lot of funds to contest elections.
Incidentally, the AAP took the decision of opposing the farm laws in this fashion only three days after the party workers and leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, observed a day-long fast to show their solidarity towards the protesting farmers, whose stir completed 22nd day on Thursday.
A day earlier, that is on December 13, the BJP workers ransacked the outer premises of his official residence. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been accusing the AAP of shedding crocodile tears for farmers and indulging in cheap politics. The Delhi chief minister had even visited the Singhu border on December 7.
