The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday (March 21) promised 33 per cent reservation for jobs for women in West Bengal. The girls would get free education from KG to PG.
Besides, all the fishermen would get Rs 6,000 annually.
Releasing the party’s election manifesto for West Bengal in the state capital, Union home minister Amit Shah held the past governments of the Left Front and Mamata Banerjee responsible for the decline of the state in the field of industrial development.
The manifesto reiterated to give Rs 6,000 per year to 75 lakh farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which was announced by the Narendra Modi government in the Interim Budget on the eve of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
It also included the implementation of another central scheme, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The BJP also promises to build three new AIIMS in West Bengal.
Shah also announced that after the BJP government would come to power people of the state would not have to seek the help of the court to celebrate Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, Chhath etc. The manifesto named as ‘Sankalp Patra’ said that no infiltrators would be allowed to enter the state and the international border will be further strengthened. He also promised to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and announced that citizenship will be given to all the refugees who have come at the time of Partition in 1947. The manifesto also promises Rs 10,000 per refugee family annually for the next five years.
Shah blamed the 73 years rule of different parties for the decline of Bengal which used to lead the country in the field of art, culture, education, science and technology etc. It was Bengal which produced reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Rabindranath Tagore, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekananda etc.
