A longtime restaurant manager in downtown Fort Worth has joined the city’s namesake club as director of operations. 

Gloria Vázquez Starling was named director of operations for the Fort Worth Club on June 16. She recently left her position as managing partner at The Capital Grille downtown where she had been for 12 years. 

“This next chapter represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of our city’s most distinguished and historic institutions,” she said in a Facebook post. “The Fort Worth Club has long stood as a beacon of tradition, civic leadership and excellence. I am honored to join an exceptional leadership team as we continue to elevate the member experience with purpose, innovation, and care.”

The Fort Worth Club did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Fort Worth Club is a social and business organization that dates its history to 1885 and has been home to some of the central players in the city’s history. 

In 1926, the club built a 12-story high-rise at Throckmorton and 7th streets, featuring apartment suites for members. The building has since been expanded with the club maintaining its operations on the top two floors. 

Originally from Mexico City, Vázquez Starling moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1991. 

She began her career in the hospitality industry in 1998.
