The funds will be credited to the accounts of 67,27,164 beneficiaries.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced the fulfillment of another election promise, Talli Ki Vandanam, marking the completion of one year of the 3-party alliance government. A special gift for mothers, this scheme would be launched on June 12, he said.

Naidu held a review meeting at the Secretariat along with ministers Nara Lokesh, Payyavula Keshav and senior officials to discuss the scheme’s implementation and its operational guidelines.

Marking the government's completion of one year, the CM directed officials to credit the financial assistance directly into the accounts of deserving mothers.

He had earlier committed that the scheme would be rolled out before schools reopened.

During the review, education minister Nara Lokesh stated that all eligible students have been identified and a detailed implementation strategy put in place. Naidu advised finance minister Payyavula Keshav to ensure the smooth availability of funds for the scheme.

Lokesh said a total of 67,27,164 students across the state would benefit from this scheme. The government would deposit `8,745 crore into their mothers’ accounts on Wednesday. The scheme would also apply to newly enrolled Class 1 students and those joining Intermediate first year. Once their details are finalised, the funds would be credited to the respective accounts.

The CM called for the immediate release of a GO to finalise the procedures. There should be coordination between departments to ensure its hassle-free implementation. If a student’s name is missing from the list due to technical reasons, the scheme would be extended to them on request.

Naidu said the government has implemented several of the poll promises including increased pensions, Anna Canteens, Mega DSC and Deepam 2.
