Former Bihar chief minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad was late on Saturday night admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, after his health condition deteriorated in Ranchi a day earlier.
Convicted in several cases of fodder scam and still awaiting bail from the Jharkhand High Court Lalu was undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi. He complained of breathing problem on Friday. His wife, Rabri Devi, two sons and the eldest daughter rushed to Ranchi on Friday itself. While the eldest daughter Misa Bharati could meet him on Friday, Rabri, Tej Pratap and Tejashwi got their turn on Saturday.
As his condition did not show any sign of improvement the family then decided on Saturday to shift him to AIIMS, Delhi. He left Ranchi in air ambulance at about 6:00 pm and entered AIIMS at 9:45 PM. Rabri and son Tejashwi accompanied him.
In Ranchi a team of eight doctors was treating him. They told the media-persons that Lalu, also known as Messiah of poor, has lung infection. Reports suggest that his condition is critical. He is in Ranchi Jail since Dec 2017.
Special prayers are being organised all over the state for his speedy recovery. Starting Thursday, Tej Pratap orgainsed a week-long Bhagwat Katha at his official residence in Patna.
