The Vision document released by the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on October 22 promised 19 lakh jobs in the next five years to the voters of Bihar. Ironically, it has come at the time when the chief minister Nitish Kumar and other BJP leaders had been questioning the RJD’s poll promise to provide 10 lakh jobs.
While delivering his election speeches Nitish has repeatedly been asking as to from where the leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav would bring money to pay salary to a million new entrants in job market. “Will the money come from jail or will they publish fake note,” Nitish asked while teasing the incarcerated RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. Deputy chief minister Sushil Modi had said that additional 58000 crore would be required to pursue the 10 lakh job promise.
This prompted Tejashwi to retort as to from where Nitish would bring money to pay 19 lakh people. The BJP’s manifesto made several other promises to improve health, education and other sectors when voted back to power. The other promise of the Vision Document of the BJP which raised eyebrows is free Corona virus vaccine to the people of Bihar. Opposition leaders asked, why does this welfare promise limited to a single state.
