Claiming that while people’s verdict (faisla) went in ” our favour” the Election Commission had pronounced its result (natija) in favour of the National Democratic Alliance the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday asked as to why chief minister Nitish Kumar was not coming out and showing his face in public after counting has finished.
“Has he gone into quarantine once again,” the young RJD leader asked while addressing the mediapersons for the first time after the November 10 announcement of the final result of the Bihar Assembly election. Tejashwi directly blamed the chief minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP for manipulating the result and said that he would go on the Thanksgiving Yatra (March)as the people had already given their verdict in the favour of Grand Alliance.
He came down heavily on the Election Commission for dancing to the tune of the Narendra Modi government. Tejashwi asked as to how and why Nitish Kumar’s party, the Janata Dal (United), slipped to the third position though he used to claim to have done so much for the people of Bihar in the last 15 years.
Tejashwi’s Press conference came on the day of hectic political activities for forming government. While some media reports suggested that the Grand Alliance is trying to woo the Hindustani Awam Morcha and Vikassheel Insan Party, both of the NDA partners having won four seats each, the HAM leader and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi appealed to the newly elected Congress MLAs to switch over to the NDA camp as there is not much difference between the policies and stands of the Janata Dal (United) and Congress.
However, it seems that at present nobody is in mood to cross over and the NDA may soon form government, most likely under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
